Event
Compete against fellow Fantastic Fest attendees, filmmakers and industry in the nerdiest of all rap battles.
3D/Feature/Featured/Guest in attendance/Repertory/Western
The lethally unbelievable visual assault that kicked off the '80s 3D Boom returns in a state of the art digital restoration. Equal parts western and rollercoaster, COMIN' AT YA pulls out every stop to entertain you. If the modern wave of 3D were as fun as COMIN' AT YA, the motion picture industry would have nothing to worry about.

Alamo's Zack Carlson and Lord Humungus stopped by KEYE to promote our insane THE ROAD WARRIOR Demolition Derby Rolling Roadshow! This is part of our season-long Summer of 1982 series presented by Fandango, and the show is going to be HUGE! But don't take my word for it - hear out Lord Humungus.

So here's what you get if you attend the THE ROAD WARRIOR Demolition Derby Rolling Roadshow: a 35mm outdoor screening of THE BEST ACTION MOVIE OF ALL TIME! A live thermonuclear flaming death race consisting of four cars on an anti-human, fire-blasting rampage of utter destruction! And pre-movie entertainment by Austin's post-apocalyptic punk ayatollahs of rocknrolla: ROCKATANSKY!

This is going to be just about the most legendary evening of your life, so don't miss it. Otherwise someone else will be enjoying the most legendary night of YOUR life. Get tickets here!

See Bela Tarr’s THE TURIN HORSE this weekend at the Ritz

Any screening of a Bela Tarr film is a must, but THE TURIN HORSE is to be his last film, which makes this an especially urgent matter for all who love Tarr's films. THE TURIN HORSE screens Saturday afternoon and again on Sunday night. Please join us for this powerful film experience.

Tarr is one of the most renowned and ingenious filmmakers of our time, and his portrait of finality, impeccably filmed and luxuriously presented, is made up of only 30 long, gorgeous takes. Submitted as Hungary's official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award, THE TURIN HORSE is a legitimate masterpiece from a true auteur.

"A sumptuous masterpiece by one of the greatest moviemakers of all time."--V.A. Musetto, NEW YORK POST

"Displays Mr. Tarr's uncompromising, atavistic commitment to darkness, difficulty and lapidary pictorial sublimity."--A.O. Scott, NEW YORK TIMES

The Turin Horse is an absolute vision, masterly and enveloping in a way that less personal, more conventional movies are not. The film doesn't seduce; it commands."--Mark Jenkins, NPR
"Astonishingly powerful on its own uncompromising terms."--Scott Tobias, AV CLUB
